a playful dance experience: a cocoa ritual with dance

In the cacao ritual, through dance and contact with cacao and through the curiosity of the body's memory and the intention of the heart we will encounter the stories of our bodies, and what is physically, emotionally, and mentally written in them. We will open ourselves to our inner movement, to the rhythm that relaxes and energizes us at the same time. We will empower the experience with ritual cacao from Ecuador, which will subdue the experience and allow us to get in deeper touch with ourselves.

The dance experience is led by Jelena Oleami – a dance teacher and choreographer who has been teaching dance for over 25 years. Her teaching roots are in contemporary dance, where she promotes authentic movement. She infuses contemporary dance with the wisdom of Anne Halprin and shamanic practices that open up subtler levels of perception and expression. She has been learning and exploring with the Cacao Teacher Plant for six years. In 2020, she participated in a medical study on the positive effects of cacao on our well-being, the body and life in general.

Movement can lead us to the home of the soul, the world within for which we have no name. Movement reaches our deepest nature while dance expresses it creatively. Through dance, we gain new insights into the mystery of our lives. When it bursts from within and is shaped by the desire for personal transformation, dance has a surprising power to heal the body, psyche, and soul.
